"Mr. Trojan" - MARV GOUX
ANNOUNCING THE FIRST BRONZE IN THE FAMOUS TROJAN SERIES.
A three year starter as a player in the 1950s, he went both ways as a junior and senior, starring at linebacker and center, and won the Davis-Teschke Award, given annually to the USC’s most inspirational player, in both 1954 and 1955.
As a coach, during his span of 1957 to 1982, serving under Don Clark, John McKay and John Robinson, USC won five national championships. As a player and coach, Goux participated in 13 Rose Bowls, 2 as a player and 11 times as coach. He is a member of both the USC Athletic Hall of Fame and the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame. Pat and Lyn Reagan of Salem, Oregon, have created a Limited Edition Bronze in Goux’s likeness, posing him in a “Come at me” posture. Coach Goux was known for his hands on instruction, often taking on players twice his size, to prove a point.
"The bronze of Marv is incredible."
